Dr. Jarrod Jones is a native of central Kansas, growing up in LaCrosse, Kansas, the self-proclaimed ‘Barbed Wire Capital of the World.’ Dr. Jarrod spent many summers and weekends working on the family farm.
Following high school graduation, he attended Kansas State University, where he received a B.S. in Agriculture. While at Kansas State, he met the love of his life, Stacey. They were married in January of 1999. Immediately following their wedding, the couple moved to Houston, Texas, to attend their respective professional schools.
Dr. Jarrod attended the University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center Dental Branch (UTDB) and graduated in 2003 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. Simultaneously, Dr. Stacey attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, earning her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree that same year.
They immediately returned to Hays to serve the dental and optometric needs of western Kansas. Dr. Jarrod initially joined Dr. Mark Ruliffson’s practice, which he purchased in December 2004, beginning his solo practice. In January 2011, he merged his practice with his brother’s practice, Cedar Lodge Family Dental, to form Cedar Lodge Dental Group.
Following a year and a half of planning and remodeling an old gas station on the Bricks of Downtown Hays, Dr. Jarrod and Dr. Stacey fulfilled their long-term dream and opened eyeSMILE Vision & Dental in January 2019, located at the corner of 13th & Main Street.
Dr. Jarrod holds professional memberships in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Kansas Dental Association (KDA), and the Oil Belt Dental Study Club. His dedication to service is evident in his role as Member-At-Large on the Kansas Dental Board from 2013 to 2021. Furthermore, he has served as Vice President and President of the Northwest Golden Belt District of the KDA. He currently sits on the Kansas Dental Association Board of Trustees and acts as a liaison for the annual Oral Health Kansas Mission of Mercy throughout the state of Kansas.
Committed to advanced learning, Dr. Jarrod has completed many hours of continuing education focused on orthodontics, dental implant placement and restoration, IV sedation, and full mouth rehabilitation. He is also a proud graduate of the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle, Washington—an advanced post-graduate program focused on the latest developments in esthetics, implant, and restorative dentistry.
