You Must Have Your Eyes Examined Prior to Being Prescribed Contact Lenses

During a contact lens exam, the overall health of your eyes is assessed. If they are suitable for contact lenses, detailed measurements are taken to determine the shape and size of your cornea. While it is true that your eyes must undergo a brief adaptation period, ranging from a couple of days up to two weeks, most people quickly find contact lenses comfortable to wear. Contact Lens Wear & Replacement

The most hygienic and easiest way to wear contact lenses is daily disposable lenses. These lenses are worn for a day and then discarded, so you don’t have to worry about ever wearing a dirty or damaged lens. Contact lenses that are replaced monthly can require nightly removal and special cleaning and storage solutions, unless they are an extended wear lens that you can sleep in.

Prescription & Lifestyle Trials
Contact lenses come in a variety of prescription powers similar to eyeglasses. With a prescription determined during your exam, we will provide you with a pair of diagnostic lenses for you to try before you purchase your annual supply. If the diagnostic lenses are uncomfortable or do not provide adequate vision correction during the trial period, we will work to find a different brand or type of lens to meet your needs. It is not uncommon to try two or three different types of contact lenses until the ideal fit is determined.
